It’s been a long time since I’ve written on this site. However, it has not been without justification. In mid-January, I was sent home from Iraq after spending over four months there. The deployment was a blast and I am glad to have went. Knowing that I made an impact in a cause I have cherished since the beginning will be something I will always remember.
Because I was in Iraq for several months, I was granted a large vacation - two weeks R&R and other three weeks for leave. During my vacation time, I went home to Indiana to visit my family and spent the rest of the time here in Colorado just relaxing and snowboarding. It was a great time to reconnect with friends and family, while celebrating my safe arrival back in the United States.
After my vacation, I ended up returning to work at Schriever AFB. I am now a shift supervisor and the main focal point for all communications circuit related issues on my shift. As such, I’m extremely busy during the day. At night, because I missed a whole semester, I’m making up the credit hours by going to school full time. The classes are accelerated, so I am always busy with homework. Thus, the reasons why I have not written.
Some have asked me why I haven’t written anything about my thoughts on the upcoming presidential campaign. The simple answer is that I just haven’t had time to commit to writing right now. However, as the campaigns start to unfold this summer, I will no doubt put things aside and communicate what I think. There is much to be studied and much to be explained, and I think this summer will be an interesting time in American politics.
