In watching the GOP debate last week, I was looking forward to hearing Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, and Tom Tancredo state their positions on a number of issues. However, a surprisingly strong voice of the night was none other than Texas Congressman Ron Paul. Though I disagree with him on a number of foreign policy issues including globalization, non-intervention, and the war in Iraq, I thought his comments on the constitutionality of declaring war, fiat money, and the role of government were the some of the best of the night. I may not agree with him on everything, but at least he understands what is authorized under the constitution and has a profound respect for the political thinking of the founding fathers. This election cycle, Ron Paul is one of my favorites.

Yes, he is a true statesman. His consistent record of voting within the boundaries set forth in the Constitution speaks louder than the rhetoric from the usual suspects.
He’s got my vote!

Ron Paul has my vote! I saw him in the debates and have looked at his posistions. I don’t agree with him on some of his issues such as Iraq (other than I agree we should have officially declared war there and in Afghanistan)but I really, really like his fiscal stances and much of his domestic posistions. Refreshing libertarian posistions will liven up the race and hopefully move the discussion.

And what exactly is wrong with Dr. Paul’s stance on foreign policy?
If you read his book, you will find that he has been very consistent in warning us to keep out of the affairs of other nations. In almost every case, he has been proven right. Each time he warned us against intervention, and we went ahead in spite of his warning, it has come back to bite us. 9/11 was just one example of our own stupid foreign policy causing foreigners to hate us enough to attack us.
Just read Osama bin-Laden’s Fatwa. You’ll find that he ordered attacks on US citizens BECAUSE of US intervention in the middle east, support of Israel and the presence of US troops on the Arabian pennisula.
While we’re on the topic, exactly what part of the Constitution authorizes Congress take US taxpayers’ money and give it away to the governments of foreign nations? I can’t find it anywhere, so maybe you can point that out for me.
I don’t agree with Dr. Paul on everything (abortion for one) but I agree with him enough to vote for him.
There simply is no one else out there that I can trust to live up to the oath to “preserve, protect and defend” the Constitution.

If Paul is not the chosen one, I will give up my vote—-I will vote for no one else! I am sick and tired of our political system
